'MobLand' Renewed for Season 3 at Paramount+, Tom Hardy Officially Returning

Paramount+ has renewed 'MobLand' for a third season and confirmed Tom Hardy will return as fixer Harry da Souza alongside Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren, ending months of speculation about the actor's future on the show.

Paramount+ has renewed “MobLand” for a third season — and confirmed that Tom Hardy will return as fixer Harry da Souza alongside Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren, ending months of back-and-forth over the actor’s future on the show.

The renewal lands ahead of Season 2’s premiere on Sept. 18, with the new season’s ten episodes streaming weekly through Nov. 20. Brosnan and Mirren reprise their roles as crime-family patriarch and matriarch Conrad and Maeve Harrigan.

Hardy’s Return Is Official

The announcement closes out a saga that spilled into public view earlier this year, when it was claimed Hardy had been fired from the show. Variety reported that wasn’t quite accurate — tensions were real, with accusations flying over Hardy’s on-set behavior, Butterworth’s availability and Glasser’s approach with actors, but the trio were trying to work through their creative differences.

“The Harrigans aren’t going anywhere,” Paramount+ declared in its press release announcing the renewal.

Director and executive producer Guy Ritchie, along with Glasser, were among those keen to see Hardy back. Their support paid off: following talks in London, the streamer confirmed da Souza will return for more shenanigans in Season 3.

In Season 2, the Harrigans struggle to show a unified front as rising rivals threaten their fractured criminal empire, with Hardy’s “fixer” walking a dangerous tightrope as tensions inside the family intensify. Alongside Hardy, Brosnan and Mirren, the new season stars Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, Mandeep Dhillon and Jasmine Jobson.

Why It Matters

“MobLand” was Paramount+‘s second-biggest launch for an original series, behind only “Landman,” and its renewal — plus Hardy’s confirmed return — settles the industry chatter that threatened to hang over Season 2. For subscribers, the news signals the crime saga’s family drama is built to last, with the three leads locked in through a third run. Whether the behind-the-scenes friction that nearly cost the show its star truly stays resolved is the subplot fans will be watching as Season 2 unspools this fall.
