Natalie Portman Welcomes Baby No. 3, Her First With Partner Tanguy Destable

Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman has welcomed her third child — her first with partner Tanguy Destable — giving birth in Paris last month, according to reports.

Natalie Portman is officially a mom of three. The Oscar-winning actress, 45, has welcomed her third child — her first with partner Tanguy Destable — giving birth in Paris last month, according to a report from People that was confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter.

The baby news closes a chapter Portman has been open about since April, when she announced her pregnancy in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar. She described feeling “very grateful” and called the expectation of a child with Destable “such a privilege and a miracle,” adding that the couple was “very excited.”

A ‘Beautiful, Joyous Thing’ at 45

In that same interview, Portman — who rose to stardom in “Black Swan,” for which she won the best actress Oscar in 2011 — spoke tenderly about how much the pregnancy meant to her, especially later in life.

“It’s such a beautiful, joyous thing, and it’s also not an easy thing. And so I know how lucky it is. I’m very aware, and I’m very grateful.”

Portman shares two older children, son Aleph and daughter Amalia, with her ex-husband, choreographer Benjamin Millepied, from whom she split after more than a decade together. Her romance with Destable, a French music producer who performs as Tepr, was first confirmed in March 2025, and the couple has kept much of their relationship out of the spotlight.

The actress also reflected on the perspective age has given her, describing a gratitude she says she didn’t fully grasp when she was younger. “There’s a calm and knowing myself: who I want to spend time with, what kind of energy I want around me that makes the experience so beautiful every day,” she said. “And knowing it’s probably the last time, I cherish every moment.”

Why It Matters

For a star who has spent three decades navigating fame, awards seasons and public scrutiny, Portman’s newest chapter is a refreshingly grounded one — a quiet, private milestone she has chosen to frame in terms of gratitude rather than spectacle. As a working mother who has balanced a celebrated film career with raising a family, her openness about the realities and joys of later pregnancy resonates widely, especially at a moment when conversations about fertility and family are everywhere. With this birth, Portman enters a new era of her life on her own terms.
