Disney is lending The Nightmare Before Christmas to a new limited-edition Bath and Body Works collection inspired by Jack Skellington, Sally and other fan-favorite characters from the 1993 Tim Burton classic. The lineup debuted online Aug. 16 for Bath and Body Works Rewards members before becoming available to all shoppers in stores and online Aug. 17.
Two New Scents
The collection introduces two brand-new fragrances. Jack Skellington’s warm, woody scent features notes of pumpkin, palo santo and spiced vanilla, while Sally’s brighter fragrance combines floral notes, berries and tonka. The character-inspired scents are available across several products, including Ultimate Hydration Body Cream, body wash, Fine Fragrance Mist, three-wick candles, foaming hand soap and PocketBac hand sanitizer.
The Pumpkin King and his rag-doll love get the full body-care treatment, from candles to hand soap.
Beyond Fragrance
The lineup also includes PocketBac clips featuring other recognizable characters, including Zero and Oogie Boogie, as well as a collectible Jack-and-Sally tote and a spooky light-up candle pedestal. Prices run from about $8.95 for a foaming hand soap to $24.95 for a three-wick candle, with mix-and-match deals bringing body-care prices down further.
It’s the latest example of the film’s unlikely merchandising muscle. Though The Nightmare Before Christmas flopped at the box office in 1993, it has spent three decades growing into a perennial retail juggernaut, embraced by fans who treat it as both a Halloween and a Christmas tradition.
Why It Matters
The Nightmare Before Christmas fan base is famously devoted, and a fragrance collab aimed squarely at the “buy everything Pumpkin King” crowd taps into the same nostalgia economy that keeps the film in the zeitgeist decades later. Landing in mid-August, it also gets the spooky season started early — which, for retailers and superfans alike, is exactly the point.
