Marvel Studios is loading up for its next Avengers chapter, and Noah Jupe is along for the ride. Sources tell Deadline that the British actor has been tapped for a secret role in “Avengers: Secret Wars,” the upcoming film set to go into production later this year, with the part expected to play a key part in the story.
Marvel had no comment on the casting, but the news lands as the studio still has a couple of months before it unveils “Avengers: Doomsday,” the next chapter it has been building toward. Anthony and Joe Russo are directing “Secret Wars,” with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige producing. The film is set to bow on Dec. 17, 2027.
“While Marvel Studios still has a couple months before it unveils its highly-anticipated ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ the next chapter is already looking to add to its stacked cast.”
A Rising Star on the Board
Jupe has been on a hot streak. He was most recently opposite Sadie Sink in the West End’s “Romeo and Juliet” revival, which earned rave reviews over the summer; Sink also recently made her own Marvel debut as Jean Grey in “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.” On screen, Jupe starred in the Oscar-winning Focus Features film “Hamnet” and appeared in the second season of “The Night Manager” opposite Tom Hiddleston. He can be seen next in the Jaume Collet-Serra thriller “Play Dead,” which Netflix recently boarded, and he just wrapped production on “A Quiet Place Part 3.” He is repped by WME and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
Why It Matters
The Marvel machine treats nearly every big movie as a checklist moment, but a secret casting like this carries its own weight. Jupe’s exact role is still under wraps, which is half the fun for fans who love to guess who is showing up in the multiverse. For the young actor, it marks a leap from acclaimed indies and TV work into the biggest franchise on the planet, and it continues Marvel’s habit of pulling rising stars into its orbit. With “Secret Wars” still more than a year out and production set to begin soon, expect plenty more names to leak into the stacked cast before the saga reaches theaters.
