Miley Cyrus Announces New Album Bass Persuades and Two Rare Hollywood Bowl Shows

Miley Cyrus has revealed her 10th studio album, Bass Persuades, is coming Sept. 18 and shared its black-and-white cover art on Instagram. She also confirmed two rare Hollywood Bowl concerts in October, ending a long stretch without big live shows.

Miley Cyrus has announced her 10th studio album, “Bass Persuades,” ending days of cryptic teasing with a release date fans can mark on the calendar: Sept. 18. The pop star shared the news on Instagram on Tuesday, revealing the LP’s black-and-white cover art, which shows her from the shoulders up holding a rose in her mouth.

The caption leaned into the record’s emotional pitch. “Music takes hold of us,” Cyrus wrote. “We feel it, sing it, sometimes dance to it, let it out and carry on. It is powerful, vulnerable, sweet and strong.” She added that “heart full, heartache, every part of life in between” is what the title means to her, and thanked fans for “making my wildest dreams come true.”

She paired the announcement with an edgy video of herself shredding on an electric guitar in a white jumpsuit, backed by a gritty, thrashing instrumental that likely shows up on the record.

“I’ve sat in those seats many times, but I’ve never taken the stage. LA is my heart and I’m bringing it home. See you there.”

The bigger news may be the live shows. Within minutes of the album reveal, Cyrus, who has not toured in years and rarely plays big venues, confirmed a two-night run at the Hollywood Bowl in October to celebrate the project. Tickets for the Oct. 16 and 18 dates start with an American Express presale on Sept. 8 at 10 a.m. PT, followed by artist and Reserved by Spotify presales, with the remaining seats up for grabs Sept. 10.

A New Chapter

The campaign began more than a week ago with a cryptic billboard and a social post that simply read “Miley,” at a time when her handle had quietly dropped “Cyrus.” Her last album, “Something Beautiful,” peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 in 2025, and before that came 2023’s “Endless Summer Vacation,” which produced the Grammy-winning, eight-week Hot 100 No. 1 “Flowers.” The rollout has also overlapped with a painful personal moment, the recent loss of her godmother, Dolly Parton, whom Cyrus mourned by writing that she has “an angel by my side.”

Why It Matters

After years of fewer tours and more carefully chosen moments, Cyrus is treating this as a genuine comeback to the stage, and the Hollywood Bowl shows give longtime fans their first real chance to hear her new material live. The teaser-heavy rollout shows how much appetite remains for a star who has spent two decades reinventing herself from “Hannah Montana” into a Grammy-winning pop force. With “Bass Persuades” arriving Sept. 18 and those Bowl nights looming in October, the next few weeks will show whether this era lands as big as its buildup.
