Remi Wolf Announces New Album Mud, Her First in Two Years

Matt Cooper ·

Remi Wolf is back with Mud, her first album since Big Ideas, arriving October 9 via Island. The California singer-producer frames the record as a journey from feeling 'covered in shit' to coming out 'clean and clear.'

Remi Wolf has announced her new album, Mud, out October 9 via Island Records — her first full-length since 2024’s Big Ideas. The California singer-producer says the record captured a real personal reset, telling Pitchfork, “I literally felt like I was covered in shit. And now, at the end of the album process, I feel so clean and clear.”

Mud, Track by Track

The 11-track Mud includes the already-released single “Twiggy,” which arrived last month as Wolf’s first song in two years. She debuted it during a surprise appearance at Hayley Williams’ Newport Folk Festival set the weekend before its release, writing in a statement that the track was about “people I’ve been with that lack both butts and emotional availability.”

“I literally felt like I was covered in shit. And now, at the end of the album process, I feel so clean and clear.”

The full tracklist runs from opener “Bottle” through “Champagne,” “Burn Me Blue,” “Covered In Mud,” and closer “Yellow Rose,” with “Twiggy” sitting in the middle at track three. The album cover matches the earthy, raw framing of the title.

A Return After a Long Break

Mud follows a stretch where Wolf largely stepped back from releasing new music after the acclaim around Big Ideas. The two-year gap between albums was the longest of her career, and the new project signals a forward turn after a run that also included festival dates and a growing cult following.

Why It Matters

For a fanbase that’s waited years for a proper follow-up, Mud is the clearest sign yet that Remi Wolf is entering a new chapter — one built on her own terms. With a lead single already resonating and a full album on the way, the record could push her further toward the mainstream while keeping the quirk that made her a breakout in the first place. Expect Mud to be one of the most talked-about pop releases this fall.
