Shakira and Burna Boy's 'Dai Dai' Extends Billboard Global 200 Reign

Matt Cooper ·

Shakira and Burna Boy's World Cup anthem 'Dai Dai' tops the Billboard Global 200 for a fifth week and the Global Excl. U.S. chart for an eighth, while Tame Impala's 'Loser' surges into the top 10 on the strength of its Spider-Man: Brand New Day sync.

The World Cup anthem is still the biggest song on the planet. Shakira and Burna Boy’s “Dai Dai” tops the Billboard Global 200 for a fifth week and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart for an eighth frame, even though the tournament that made it famous ended nearly a month ago.

On the charts dated Aug. 22, 2026, “Dai Dai” drew 44.1 million streams, down 10% week over week, and sold 6,000 copies, down 9%, worldwide during the Aug. 7-13 tracking period, according to Luminate. Outside the U.S., it held atop the Global Excl. U.S. chart with 37.8 million streams and 4,000 sold.

The Spider-Man Bump

The bigger story this week is Tame Impala. The band’s “Loser” vaulted 51-5 on the Global 200, up 72% to about 30 million streams, after it was featured in “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” the Kevin Parker-fronted act’s second top 10 after “Dracula.”

“Loser” was lifted by its sync in the blockbuster, which has cleared $2 billion globally at the box office over its first three weekends.

The Spider-Man effect rippled down the chart. Steve Lacy’s “Oh Yeah?,” also heard in the film, blasted 158-23 with 20.5 million streams, while Post Malone and Swae Lee’s 2018 track “Sunflower” bounded 53-29. All three were among the week’s biggest gainers on the Global 200.

Ariana Grande’s “Hate That I Made You Love Me” slipped to No. 2 after three nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1, Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” rebounded 4-3, and Grande’s “Petal” fell to No. 4. Justin Bieber’s “Beauty and a Beat” and BTS’ “SWIM” rounded out the Global Excl. U.S. top five.

Why It Matters

The chart shows how a stadium anthem can keep dominating long after the final whistle, and how a blockbuster movie soundtrack can single-handedly resurrect older songs. For Shakira and Burna Boy, the run locks in a rare cross-genre, cross-continent hit that will define the 2026 World Cup era. And with “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” still in theaters, expect “Loser” and its fellow soundtrack cuts to keep climbing. The streaming charts, it turns out, are still ruled by the big moments.
